Galapagos rock formation Darwin’s Arch has collapsed
(CNN) — Just one of the most famous rock formations in the Galapagos Islands has collapsed into the sea.
The prime of Darwin’s Arch, situated in the northern component of the archipelago, fell as “a consequence of pure erosion,” in accordance to the Ministry of Environment for Ecuador.
Visuals of the structure, which now consists of just two pillars, have been posted on the social media accounts for the ministry on Monday together with a statement confirming the information.
