Conserving Carolina intern Alexla Perez-Sanchez to direct bilingual walks in Henderson County

When Alexla Perez-Sanchez was a baby, she and her mother couldn’t do much hiking. A single time, they went to a climbing space, but they could not go through the indications in English. They didn’t know the place to go, so they just sat in the vehicle.

Now, as a summer season intern at Conserving Carolina, Alexla is encouraging to make the outdoors extra inviting and accessible to additional persons.

This summertime, she will lead a series of bilingual walks, translate resources into Spanish, develop youth-oriented social media articles, and create films that engage people with conservation and wildlife.

Alexla is a mounting senior at UNC-Asheville and a two-time alumna of Conserving Carolina’s Summer of Support. Summertime of Provider is a local AmeriCorps method for younger people today involving the ages of 17 and 19.
