Roger Daltrey Cancels U.S. Solo Tour Thanks to Journey ‘Uncertainty’
The Who singer Roger Daltrey has canceled a U.S. solo tour prepared for August and September.
“When I booked these displays a number of months ago, I was confident that issues would be again to normal by August, but due to the uncertainty of the latest vacation condition and the issues for a [U.K.] act to be equipped to conduct in the [U.S.], I have reluctantly made the decision to terminate the exhibits,” Daltrey wrote on Fb.
The singer emphasized his hope of rebooking the displays “in the near upcoming,” encouraging ticket buyers to “you should acknowledge [his] sincere apologies.” He extra, “I do take pleasure in your help and won’t be able to wait around to get again to work after the time is right.”
Daltrey introduced the Live and Kicking tour in mid-May well, arranging to accomplish “some Who hits, a number of rarities and some solo hits.”
The Who had been scheduled to play 11 dates in the U.K. and Ireland in spring 2020, but all those dates ended up postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Though they’ve yet to reschedule the live shows, Daltrey promised at the time that they would “definitely come about,” noting, “It may well be the very last time we do a tour of this type, so preserve these tickets, as the shows will be superb.”
Guitarist Pete Townshend added, “If 1 supporter caught coronavirus at a Who live performance, it would be a single far too lots of.”
The band — which released its hottest LP, WHO, in 2019 — has been concentrating lately on archival songs. They not long ago issued an expanded, double-LP version of 1981’s Confront Dances as element of Record Shop Day’s first “RSD Fall” and an expanded box set of 1967’s vintage The Who Offer Out.
