Chinese Blind Climber Zhang Hong Scales Everest
A Chinese climber became the first-ever blind Asian to scale Mount Everest. Zhang Hong, 44, grew to become the first-ever Asian to obtain this feat and is also the 3rd blind climber at any time. He went by rigorous training in advance of commencing his journey.

He shared that, “I have grand plans for the future couple of years. I will climb the 7 peaks in all the 7 continents and then journey to the North and South poles.”
Zhang Hong was not blind by start but dropped his eyesight when he was 21 owing to glaucoma. He labored as a masseur for a very long time at a Tibet healthcare facility. The climber presently lives with his wife. Even when working at the healthcare facility, he did not give up teaching. Hong would carry major baggage weighing more than 60 lbs ., every day.
