Keep an eye on Go now open Caltrans doing work to open up all other mountain passes by Memorial Working day | South Lake Tahoe
Caltrans crews are performing on all Sierra mountain passes in order to have them all open by Memorial Working day. District 10 has been clearing snow and particles from mountain passes for various generations, tackling the activity each spring on Ebbetts Move/State Route 4, Observe Pass/SR-89 and Sonora Move/SR-108.
Taking away snow and ice, pushing apart fallen trees and dead branches, dislodging boulders and mounds of rocks … people are just some of the challenges awaiting crews as they head up the freeway to better altitude.
On Friday, they announced the opening of SR89 over Keep an eye on Go. This will allow motorists to use Keep track of Move/SR-89 to journey between SR-88 to the north and U.S. Highway 395 to the south.
They also moved up the closure on Ebbetts Go/SR-4 from the west stop of Lake Alpine to the east finish of the lake. The east facet of the go is continue to closed the overall stretch.
The closure on Sonora Move/SR-108 moved from the Sno-Park to Eagle Meadows. Motorists need to be conscious that there is particularly minimal parking and few possibilities to switch close to on this portion of SR-108.
Caltrans in some cases will near the road when late-year storms have an effect on the region.
