Local non-income staff up to construct four-mile mountain bike trail in Pocahontas Condition Park

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Just after surging pandemic bicycle revenue in 2020, two non-gain companies have teamed up with Pocahontas Condition Park to create a new four-mile bike trail.

Soon after a two-mile hike by way of the woods and following the tracks and sounds of a bulldozer, you could uncover volunteers deep in the trails of Pocahontas Condition Park on Saturday.

Clark Jones, the Pocahontas Mountain Bicycle Trails Coordinator, explained he and the volunteers are developing a new bike path termed the “Jerry Path.”

On Saturday, around 17 volunteers from non-gains like rvaMORE and Good friends of Pocahontas Point out Park joined forces with Jones to help pace up the method.

He said he has a newfound appreciation for the trails he is creating.
