Mexican race walkers defeat physical difficulties on journey to Tokyo Video games

Athletes from Chihuahua share personalized tales with supporters on social media on eve of Olympic competitors

EL PASO, Texas (Border Report) – At least 6 athletes born or raised in Chihuahua will be representing Mexico in the upcoming Tokyo Olympics. Two more are scheduled to compete in the Paralympic Video games there next month as effectively.

The Olympians include a few racewalkers, a boxer, a swimmer and a soccer player. The Paralympians will compete in Taekwondo.

“These are athletes who have focused their everyday living to their activity and have a very long history of achievements,” mentioned Julio Ortega, an official with the Chihuahua Sports Institute. “Most have confronted and conquer individual road blocks including, in the case of the Paralympians, key physical challenges.”

Alegna Aryday Gonzalez Munoz also trained in the mountains. At 22, this is her 1st Olympic levels of competition. She instructed Fox Sports that Nava encouraged her to turn out to be a racewalker.

The two Paralympians are Francisco Pedraza and Daniela Martinez Mariscal, both competing in Taekwondo.
