A new lava stream is active on the Sciara del Fuoco.

At 2:45 pm regional time, a stronger explosion transpired from the northeastern vent, triggering a lava overflow on to the outer slopes of the crater. Collapsing parts of the circulation created a smaller avalanche that lifted ash plumes as it descended the slope in the direction of the sea.

In the hrs next the function, lava ongoing to effuse on to the slope at moderate level, retaining the movement lively and little by little advancing right until about half way to the sea by now. Recurrent glowing rockfalls from the flow tumble down to the shore.

No matter whether the effusive eruption will proceed or not stays to be viewed: Distinctive from the tiny flows that experienced been active intermittently 3 days in the past, the new lava circulation looks much larger and more alimented. As a result, if it stays active, it could quickly arrive at the sea.
