PGA Tour Mexico event will bring tourism desire to Lakewood Ranch

The PGA held a media preview press conference Thursday at The Concession Golf Club to introduce some of the people involved in bringing the World Golf Championships-Mexico Championship to the Sarasota-Bradenton area after it was determined that the event could not be held in Mexico.

LAKEWOOD RANCH – Since its inception, Lakewood Ranch, with its leading golf courses, out-of-this-world mansions, sweet shops and flawlessly crafted, insulated villages, has been an idyllic position to are living for these who can afford it.

But from a tourism standpoint, it has not often been clear wherever this booming master-planned group fits as a spot to bring guests to the place. 

“We’ve been hunting regionally at how we can bring tourism consciousness to east county, especially Lakewood Ranch,” Elliott Falcione, executive director of the Bradenton Space Convention and Readers Bureau, claimed. “It’s a 35,000-acre grasp-prepared enhancement, No. 1 in the country – how do we showcase that?”
