‘Spectacular’ vibrant-orange bat species found

(NEXSTAR) – Researchers have declared the discovery of a new bat species, found high in the mountains of West Africa.

With its big ears and retracting wings, the new species undoubtedly appears to be equivalent to its previously explained bat comrades. But one particular thing helps make Myotis nimbaensis stand out from the pack: It offers vivid orange fur and black wings.

There are at the moment 1,400 recognized species of bats. But the discovery of the vivid-orange bat in Guinea is significantly remarkable.
