SWFL couples fed up with vaccine process journey to East Coastline to get first dose

A female was fed up with the vaccine reservation procedure in Southwest Florida, so she traveled hundreds of miles to get the shot.

Betty Rahm, Cherie McArthur and their husbands took a highway vacation across the condition Tuesday to get their initial COVID-19 doses.

“I just want items to be back again to standard,” Rahm explained.

“I wanted to get it carried out,” McArthur said. “I wished to be able to appreciate some of my life once more.”

The former Ohio residents booked their appointments at the Cleveland Clinic where they are individuals. This was the selection they collectively built immediately after several unsuccessful tries to program appointments in Lee County.

“It was so annoying because you’d cling up you’d dial once again you’d get the active you’d dial yet again,” McArthur mentioned.

Donna Lee Horn in Englewood is aware the experience.

“He’s been calling he’s been on the internet hoping to get an appointment but you cannot get as a result of,” Horn stated.

Horn and Enid Kuperman are disappointed with non-Florida people acquiring pictures in advance of them. They don’t want to travel for their vaccine.

“I know they want their pictures, and I hope they did,” Horn mentioned. “Why did not they get it up in which they are living?”

“Everybody must have the chance,” Kuperman claimed. “Doesn’t matter if you’re a snowbird, everyone need to have it. It is just getting mishandled.”

You really don’t have to reside in Lee County to get the vaccine, and the very same goes for all the other vaccination web pages in Southwest Florida.

“Either retain hoping, or basically glimpse at substitute web sites much too,” Rahm reported. “I suggest neighboring counties. I had appeared into that as perfectly.
