‘The Mission Walker’ travels through Dayton, Liberty

Dayton Mayor Caroline Wadzeck (suitable) joined Edie Littlefield Sundby of California as she walked by Dayton and Liberty on Friday, June 4. Sundby is on a 1,200 mile journey from Florida to San Antonio on the Outdated Spanish Path. Wadzeck accompanied her on the wander from Dayton to Liberty, and showed her around the courthouse sq. right before Sundby continued her journey.

Edie Littlefield Sundby, known as ‘The Mission Walker’, was welcomed to Dayton on Friday morning, June 4, by Mayor Caroline Wadzeck as she passed by way of city on her 1,200-mile journey to Florida from San Antonio.  Sundby has established a new aim of strolling the OST (Aged Spanish Path – now U.S. Freeway 90) in stages. 

She attained her former target to walk the 1,600-mile El Camino True de las California’s mission path via the mountain wilderness of Mexico – a single of the hottest deserts on earth – and throughout the border to Northern California.  It was a walk that “elevated my life with which means and objective that transcended ache and fear – and healed my broken overall body,”  Sundby stated.

Sundby commenced that wander 6 months after dropping her suitable lung to most cancers, combating recurrent phase 4 cancer that incorporated 79 rounds of chemotherapy, 4 radical surgeries (liver, lung, colon/abdomen, and throat), and dozens of radiation remedies.
