Touring thrift keep stopping in Syracuse to raise dollars for social justice corporations
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-Television set) — The Thrift 2 Fight movement will prevent by Syracue on Saturday, June 5 through their a few week New York thrifting tour to raise cash for grassroots social justice businesses.
The tour begins in Albany on June 4 and will make stops in Syracuse, Ithaca, Rochester, Buffalo, Kingston, Yonkers, White Plains, and New York City.
The Syracuse end will be held at the Syracuse Peace and Social Justice Centre at 2013 East Genesee Street. The revenue lifted will reward Unchained, Black Lives Subject Syracuse, General public Citizen, Personnel Center of CNY, Agree, New York Immigration Coalition, and Syracuse Peace Council.
The company is looking for volunteers to perform the sale in Syracuse and anyone intrigued can signal up at this backlink.
The group will travel to nine metropolitan areas and arrange pop-up fundraising thrift revenue in partnership with local businesses and initiatives that battle for racial justice, incapacity legal rights, and queer liberation.
100% of the funds lifted will be donated to these companies with their purpose currently being to raise $20,000 by the conclude of the tour.
Thrift 2 Fight’s journey started in the summer months of 2020 when a team of buddies in the Hudson Valley have been seeking for a way to help the Black Lives Make a difference movement when unable to go to the protests since of immigration difficulties and health considerations.
The close friends made the decision to increase money for protesters and bail money by selling 2nd hand clothes on porches, church lawns, and in parking heaps.
