Trump lifts COVID-19 vacation limits, Biden to block improvements
President Trump announced he is lifting COVID-19-connected journey constraints on Europe and Brazil, but the Biden administration states it will not carry constraints.

With significantly less than 48 hours left in his presidency, President Trump introduced late Monday that he’s lifting COVID-19-connected journey restrictions he positioned on international nationals coming from much of Europe and Brazil. Journey restrictions will continue for most coming from China and Iran.
The constraints would be lifted as of January 26, right after President-elect Joe Biden will come into business, and Biden spokeswoman Jen Psaki tweeted Monday that the new administration does not intend to carry the vacation situations on January 26.
“With the pandemic worsening, and a lot more contagious variants rising all around the earth, this is not the time to be lifting constraints on international vacation,” Psaki wrote.
Mr. Trump cited coordination with U.S. officials and transparency as the justification for lifting journey restrictions on Europe and Brazil.
The president’s proclamation claimed that “unrestricted entry into the United States of folks who have been physically present in the Schengen Area, the United Kingdom (excluding abroad territories outside the house of Europe), the Republic of Ireland, and the Federative Republic of Brazil is no more time harmful to the passions of the United States and uncover that it is in the fascination of the United States to terminate the suspension of entry into the United States of people who have been bodily present in these jurisdictions.”
Mr. Trump limited journey coming from China in late January 2020, and restricted travel coming from Europe in March in 2020.
Now, many international locations restrict tourists from the U.S. due to superior an infection costs in the states. The U.S. has the optimum range of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the world, and the best death toll.
