York Higher education has limited journey to start out its NCAA Division III journey

The York Higher education men’s lacrosse staff won’t have to vacation much this weekend when it commences its NCAA Division III postseason journey.

The Spartans’ first-spherical D-III contest is slated for nearby Franklin and Marshall School in Lancaster — about a 25-mile trip over the Susquehanna River. York is scheduled to face Lasell at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Mentor Brandon Childs’ Spartans (14-1), ranked No. 6 in NCAA Division III by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Affiliation, are coming off a dominating 11- triumph about No. 7 Stevenson on Saturday evening in the Center Atlantic Convention Commonwealth title contest. That victory attained York an automated berth into the NCAA D-III celebration. Stevenson (8-1), which suffered its initial reduction from York, still obtained an at-substantial bid to the D-III event.
