Letter: Aid Our Inns – Laguna Seaside Local Information

As a twin resident of the Las Vegas region and Laguna Beach front and long-time Laguna Beach home owner, former Laguna Beach front Chamber of Commerce CEO and president, and a 10-year board member of the Laguna Seashore Boys & Girls Club, I have always experienced a vested fascination in the city’s long run. As such, I was disturbed to witness a little protest from non-inhabitants who oppose reworking ideas at some Laguna Seashore resorts.

The Laguna Seaside coastline is a jewel that will have to be preserved. Section of that preservation demands regime routine maintenance and restore of our existing buildings, like lodges, along the coastline. I, together with my neighbors, help tasteful renovations and preservation. I am assured that the Laguna Seashore city councilmembers look at difficulties this kind of as accessibility and traffic impacts when approving community jobs.

I do, having said that, strongly query the motivations behind this group opposing the transforming initiatives. The June 9 post mentions the organizers of the protest were from UNITE Right here Regional 11, a controversial hospitality staff union centered in Los Angeles. A union? Some of you might also recall obtaining an unsolicited spam text concept this spring from the very same team. I received 1, as did my daughter.

I did an internet lookup for Local 11 and was stunned to uncover that they oppose a bipartisan federal assistance deal for jobless hospitality employees. Our neighbors could use that assistance!

I aid the workers who do the job below, people who reside below and community businesses who work listed here in Laguna Beach front. We treasure our community and our independence. We really do not have to have a team from Los Angeles telling us what we will need to help and not support.
